Our Approach to the Environment
We recognise that manufacturing fibreglass components consumes materials and energy. Our approach is therefore based on practical improvements: accurately controlling material use, reducing avoidable waste, extending product life and adopting cleaner manufacturing technology.
Rather than making broad environmental promises, we concentrate on changes that can be applied and measured within our own production processes.
Reusable Silicone Membrane Technology
Working in partnership with leading specialists in silicone membrane technology, we have adopted reusable silicone bagging as a key development in our manufacturing process. Our aim is to introduce this technology across as many suitable products as possible.
A silicone membrane can be reused for a minimum of approximately 600 production cycles, depending on the component and how the membrane is maintained. This reduces reliance on disposable production materials and distributes the environmental cost of manufacturing the membrane across hundreds of finished parts.
The process also gives us more accurate control over the laminate and produces a cleaner, more consistent component. When a part is manufactured using a correctly designed silicone membrane, the laminate can begin and finish at the required edges of the component.
This can substantially reduce—or sometimes eliminate—the trimming normally required after traditional wet lay-up or light resin transfer moulding. Less trimming means:
Fewer fibreglass offcuts
Less airborne trimming dust
Reduced use of cutting and sanding equipment
Less time and energy spent finishing each component
More consistent finished dimensions
Cleaner and more controlled production
Better process accuracy can also reduce the risk of rejected components, unnecessary rework and wasted materials.

Continuous Improvement
We are continuing to develop the way we record material use, energy consumption, waste reduction and repair outcomes. This will allow us to support future environmental reporting with meaningful figures and real project evidence.
As reusable silicone membrane technology is introduced across more suitable products, we will continue assessing its effect on material consumption, trimming waste, production accuracy and component consistency.
For customers, this means working with a manufacturer that is actively improving its processes while maintaining the quality and performance expected from professionally manufactured GRP components.
